Cedrick L. Lawson, CFSP, CFSGM

Managing Partner | Licensed Embalmer & Funeral Director

Cedrick L. Lawson, CFSP, CFSGM, Licensed Embalmer, Funeral Director and Managing Partner of Bayou Funeral Services, LLC, was reared in funeral service and brings more than 25 years of experience to the profession and the communities he serves.
With a genuine heart for service to his fellowman, Cedrick believes that caring for families before, during, and after life’s most difficult moments is both a calling and a responsibility that should never be taken lightly. The trust families have placed in him throughout the years remains one of his greatest honors and continues to be reflected in the meaningful relationships he has built throughout the communities he has served.
As a member of a family-owned and operated funeral home, Cedrick believes funeral service should be personal. Families should never feel like they are simply receiving a service—they should feel that they are being cared for by professionals who genuinely understand the importance of their loved one and the significance of the moment.
Through his many years of service, Cedrick has had the privilege of building professional relationships with funeral service colleagues throughout the country. These trusted relationships allow him to assist families when a death occurs away from home, helping coordinate the necessary arrangements to bring their loved one home or provide meaningful services wherever the need may arise. He believes that distance should never prevent a family from receiving compassionate, professional guidance during their time of loss.
Cedrick’s advanced studies in funeral home management have further strengthened his commitment to professional excellence while allowing him to remain abreast of the evolving needs, practices, and trends within funeral service. He understands that no two families—and no two lives—are the same. Whether a family chooses a simple cremation, a traditional funeral, or an elaborate and personalized Celebration of Life, Cedrick believes every service should be carried out with the same level of dignity, attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care.
Cedrick is also passionate about helping families understand that quality funeral service and affordability can coexist. He believes families should have meaningful choices and should never feel pressured to spend beyond their means in order to properly honor someone they love. His commitment is to provide families with options that respect their budget, lifestyle, traditions, and wishes, while never compromising the dignity, professionalism, quality, or standards of the service provided.
His principles of funeral service are rooted in a commitment to uphold the highest standards of service, respect, honor, dignity, and integrity. Cedrick recognizes the sacred and prestigious trust placed in the hands of a funeral director and believes that such trust carries a responsibility to serve every family with compassion, professionalism, honesty, and meticulous attention to detail.
At the heart of Cedrick’s philosophy is the belief that every life deserves to be celebrated, and every final farewell deserves to be dignified and presented with class. Regardless of circumstance, every family deserves a funeral professional who will listen, guide, educate, serve, and stand beside them throughout their journey.
As Managing Partner of Bayou Funeral Services, LLC, Cedrick remains committed to serving families throughout Houma and surrounding communities, while helping preserve the dignity and integrity of the funeral service profession.
At Bayou Funeral Services, we vow to serve each family as we would our own family—not simply providing a service for a day, but cultivating relationships built upon trust, compassion, honesty, and care that can grow into lifelong friendships.
For Cedrick, being a funeral director is more than a profession or a title—it is a lifelong pledge to serve humanity, comfort those who mourn, honor those who have passed, uphold the prestigious trust of funeral service, and above all, remain a friend to man.
Cedrick is licensed in Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, and Hawaii.
“Every life deserves to be celebrated, and every farewell deserves to be dignified.”
